Pta. Mita Highlights

Some memorable experiences from a trip we don't want to forget (in order of appearance):

- The incredibly inefficient and indiscriminatory cattle drive through the PVR Mexican customs
- The indescribably delicious and conveniently located bus stop burrito shop, "Tacos Marlin"...split a smoked Marlin burrito, clinked Pacificos, and took some Corona lights and pineapple juice to go
- The prompt arrival of a Pta Mita bus, post-burrito, and the unbeatable price for transport - two gringos, four bags, six dollars
- The draw of La Hotel Quinta del Sol, such that we sought no directions upon disembarking the bus, but simply started shuffling in the direction of the beach, which did, after gaping down the tourist hill, detouring down a fragrant alley and parading our luggage through a beach-front eating establishment filled with curious onlookers, lead us directly to the beach and from there up the stairs to the hotel itself.  We literally got off the bus and went straight to the beach.
- Similarly, our feet took little time in acquiring flip flop blisters and underwater rock damage, Audrey ("owww") and Nic (OUCHHHH) accordingly.
- An around the block tour to Teresa's Tacos for dinner night one.  As for flan: one and done.
-   Exercising on the beach is just the best.  Except for exercising on the beach with your best friend, which is actually even better.  Even eighty year olds agree!
- Breakfast numero uno at the whitest looking Mexican run restaurant in town, where when you are a gringo, you confuse the server by reading off the Spanish menu, so he gives you the English copy so he most certainly won't understand what you're trying to order
- (British accent) Jonathon - Jonathon!
-  "The ATM's are out of service? Ah, yes, I've just heard...the bank is out of money!  And the bank that loans that bank money....out of money too!  It's going to be a long weekend..."
- Back to the beach please.
- Swimming in the ocean is just the best.  Except for swimming in the ocean with your best friend, which is actually even better. #baecation #wavesoflove
- And on that note, the only better snack in pinch than Kippered Snacks, is Kippered Snacks in Punta de Mita!  Glad they made it through customs, although our firearms and $10,000+ cash did not...
- Dinner's only 30 seconds away at Cafe de Pintar, owned by Kit Worthington's (Bistro 45) Mexican brother Ropy! Downsize your table and upgrade your margarita all without asking!  Shrimp tostadas were absolutely inspiring.
- The following morning, descending the stairs for the beach exercise, the sand seemed much less populated that the day before. Come to find out, it wasn't the beachgoers who were behind schedule, but the fact that we were ahead of schedule and out getting our intervals in before 11am #fitcation #gogetters #supersets #sunsout
- Cafe Turquoise
- Shopping around
- Sunning with the Canadians
- Cooking dinner
 - New Year's Eve
